What‘s happening, what's happening

To my green and pleasant  land?

Things seem to be getting somewhat out of hand.

I want to go back to the times I understand.

What's happening to my green and pleasant land?

It seemed a good idea at the time:

Everything was going to be fine.

Freedom for us all if we would just withdraw.

But we didn't, we didn't read the signs.

What's happening …..

Have we been divided into two?

You say things but I don't believe in you.

If we build a fence will we become entrenched

And we'll never, we'll never see this through.

What's happening…..

Hopefully some day we will see sense,

But now things are getting rather tense.

Do we need someone who's right to maybe shine a light?

And lead us out of this turbulence.

What's happening….

I still go walking in the countryside.

The flowers and the grasses by my side

The sunshine warms my face and it's still a lovely place

You wouldn't know that anything had changed.
